Tom Hedditch, born in 1878, was the second youngest of nine children born to William and Eliza Hedditch. William, born in 1835 at Stourton Caundle, had married Eliza (nee Curtis), in 1860. Eliza was the daughter of George (1809-1885) and Hannah (nee Duffett, 1810-1883), two of their nine children died in infancy.
Tom, a master builder, married Mary Ellen Vining in 1911. A daughter, Elizabeth, was born in 1916. Mary passed away in 1956 and Tom in 1960.
Bernard Bastable, born in 1885 at Marnhull, was the fifth of eight children born to John, born in 1857 at Marnhull and Ellen (nee Hatcher), born in 1854 at Marnhull.
Bernard married Ellen Myall, born at East Stour in in 1886, third youngest of nine children born to Henry and Adelaide Myall, in 1910. In the 1911census they are recorded as living at Haines Villa in Marnhull. They had four children, Ronald (1912-1913), Gwendoline (1914-2002), Alfred (1916-1990) and Douglas (1920-2000).
Bernard passed away in 1958 and Ellen in 1968.
