Douglas Adams 1952 - 2001

PictureDouglas Adams
Sherborne Literary Festival 2012 .. Homage will be paid at the Sherborne Literary Festival to the man who, unbeknown to many, wrote the Hitchhiker series a short distance down the road in the village of Stalbridge.
Sitting at a desk in his mother's house, he penned the book which would make him a household name and give rise to comic characters including Arthur Dent.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy  is a comedy science fiction series created by Douglas Adams. Originally a radio comedy broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in 1978, it was later adapted to other formats, including stage shows, novels, comic books, a 1981 TV series, a 1984 video game, and 2005 feature film.
